Label info: After a recent remix for Andrea Parker and work with the Palette All-Stars, Justin Maxwell returns after a 2 year solo absence bringing us two monster tracks that make up for lost time. 'The Windey Man' powers through like a combination of classic Aphex Twin meets Dillinja basslines. After a techy opening building up to a dark melodic phrase, things really start to go mad with some incredible bass drops. A track, which really must be experienced on a proper system. The b-side 'The Long Mover' follows a more patient pace with Justin's modular synth work and trademark sound design building strategically over time. Intricate edits and melodies creep in and out with basslines modulating throughout. A very expressive piece, which gives the impression his synths are alive and trying to tell us something. What are they trying to tell us ? A warning ? An alien invasion ? Perhaps we will not find out until it is too late...
